1

Download Your Font Files

First, obtain your font files from a trusted source. Common font formats include:

  • .TTF (TrueType Font)
  • .OTF (OpenType Font)
  • .WOFF/.WOFF2 (Web Open Font Format)
Note: Always check font licenses before use. Some fonts are free for personal use only.

Install Fonts on Your Computer

For Windows:

  1. Right-click the font file (.ttf or .otf)
  2. Select "Install"
  3. Alternatively, copy fonts to C:\Windows\Fonts

For Mac:

  1. Double-click the font file
  2. Click "Install Font" in the preview window
  3. Fonts will be added to /Library/Fonts (system-wide) or ~/Library/Fonts (user-only)

  2. Select text tool (T icon)
  3. Tap the font dropdown menu
  4. Scroll to find your new font

In Photoshop/Illustrator:

  1. Create a text layer
  2. Open the Character panel (Window > Character)
  3. Select your font from the dropdown
Warning: Some apps may require restarting before new fonts appear.

Troubleshooting

If fonts don't appear:

  • Restart your design application
  • Verify the font installed correctly (check Font Book on Mac or Font Settings on Windows)
  • Ensure you have the correct font file format for your OS
  • Try reinstalling the font

For mobile apps (like PixelLab on Android):

  1. Place font files in a dedicated folder on your device
  2. In PixelLab: Go to Text > Font > Custom Fonts
  3. Navigate to your font folder and select the font

Pro Tip:

Use font management software like Adobe Fonts (included with Creative Cloud) or FontBase (free) to organize and activate/deactivate fonts as needed.
